I have a question, I am switching urls, and want to keep the dbase from the old site, but am fed up with vb and bots. I have been looking this site over for a few days and seem impressed by what I read in the form of customer feed back.

I know this may be a unique request, but if I were to transfer the DB if it could be incorporated?

Hi Highbeams, welcome to Ultra!

Unfortunately we do not have a VB converter though we recently did finish a phpBB converter that has been working out nicely.

I would love to accommodate you but with the development on the new version of Ultra coming soon and the fact that we have no electricity at the moment in the very spot I would write such a thing I'm afraid it would take too long.

If your forum is relatively new you might not loose a lot, have you started a trial board here yet?

Jim

am now playing with a trail board

actually just bought a license and will soon be having the board transfered to my hosting site

After reviewing this site, and seeing the excellent feedback you guys get I jumped on it, I however have prepaid for 3 years hosting with the company that host my other 2 sites, but the future is bright for hosting here.

Anyway, no conversion, no problem, as the new URL is a new start.

So the next question is, what must I have set up before we can transfer a BB

Is there a vB to phpBB2 converter? phpBB is free, so it wouldn't cost anything to do the conversion in two stages via phpBB2. Just a thought.

Martin.

I just sent you your log in information for our private support. If you'd like for Jim to install the board, please post your FTP log in information in our private support and Jim can install.

If you prefer to install it yourself, you can download the files needed in our private support download area.

Thank you for your purchase

Di

thanks Di, you guys have great customer support,
I am developing the site for a few days here, and will ask you to switch it for me in 2 weeks. I am off to see my father in Florida in a week and when I get back I will do the switch.
I already can tell this is a plus just from all the great vibe that is here.
we are glad we chose you guys already.

I'd be curious to know the answer to this as well.
